The state's elections chief wants to know how a new electronic check-in system for voters was implemented in a southwestern Ohio county after some people experienced problems on Election Day.
Secretary of State Jon Hustedinstructed the Hamilton County Board of Elections on Friday to conduct a review into election preparations. He wants a report by Dec. 11. The county's elections director had blamed "a learning curve" for poll workers for problems finding registered voters with e-pollbooks. She didn't respond immediately Friday to a message for comment, but the board's web site shows a special meeting is set for Nov. 10 to discuss this week's election. Other state and local officials have called for reviews. A judge extended voting Tuesday for 90 minutes in the county that includes Cincinnati.
