High Pressure Caused Newark Plant Explosion

Newark Advocate

Newark fire chief Pat Connor says "overpressure" in a tank containing hexane and ethanol caused Monday's explosion at a plant that injured five people. The blast happened at the Tamarack Road plant owned by Georgia-based Arboris LLC, a company that makes plant sterols. Four people were treated at the scene and one was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
