Authorities say a Hamilton firefighter died after he fell through the floor while battling a house fire on Monday.
Fire officials say crews entered the home after receiving a report that someone was trapped. That report turned out to be false. Hamilton Fire Chief Steve Dawson says one firefighter fell through the floor and into the basement. Authorities didn't immediately identify the firefighter. No other injuries were reported. The blaze remains under investigation.
