Fourth Defendant In Egg Farm Slave Labor Case Indicted

Newark Advocate

The last of four defendants indicted together on federal charges for a human-trafficking ring that lured Guatemalan migrants to work at Marion egg farms has pleaded guilty. 22-year-old Ana Angelica Pedro Juan and the others were indicted last year for forcing workers to live in dilapidated trailers and work long hours on egg farms in Marion. Eight minors and two adults were identified as victims of a trafficking conspiracy. Sentencing is pending.
