The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating the Dole food company over a listeria outbreak linked to its plant in Springfield that killed at least four people. More than 30 people fell ill in the U.S. and Canada between May 2015 and February of this year. Dole temporarily shut down operations at the plant in January and issued recalls. The company recently announced it would resume plant operations on a limited basis.
