Ohio Sees Slight Increase In Jobless Rate

Ohio's new unemployment rate is 5.2 percent, up one-tenth of a point from March. The U.S. unemployment rate for April was 5 percent. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says today that non-farm payrolls fell by nearly 14 thousand last month to nearly 5.5 million. Ohio had 302 thousand jobless workers last month, up by 8 thousand from March. The state saw job gains in construction, but those were offset by losses in manufacturing.
