An Ohio University professor instrumental in shaping the curriculum of the journalism school has died of cancer at age 87. Guido Stempel III died Tuesday at a Columbus hospital. He joined the faculty in 1965 and was named a distinguished professor in 1982. He was editor of Journalism Quarterly for 17 years.
