Franklin County health officials say a Westerville teenager died last weekend from a rare brain-eating amoeba. 18-year-old Lauren Seitz was infected while swimming out of state. Seitz had just graduated from Westerville South High School. She contracted primary amoebic meningoencephalitis, which is typically found in warm bodies of freshwater such as rivers and lakes and enters the human body through the nose.
