The union representing Ohio Highway Patrol troopers rejected a tentative three-year contract agreement this week that would have provided pay raises totaling 13.5 percent. Union leaders say 92 percent of troopers rejected the deal. The union says the pay increases are lower than some non-union state employees received, and troopers have not received a raise in the last nine years. The next step will be to return to collective bargaining or bring in an outside mediator.
