OSHA Increasing Fines For Safety Violations

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration says it is now increasing fines for safety violations.  The new policy increases the maximum penalty for serious violations to more than 12 thousand dollars. If a company makes repeated mistakes, or purposely violates safety standards, the fine is now nearly 125 thousand dollars.  The new police comes after two Ohio workers died in accidents this year, one at Timken Steel in Canton and the other at Aqua Ohio in Mentor.
