A Columbus man has been indicted for causing a fatal crash on New Year's day. 33-year-old Daniel Merz will be arraigned on September 7. Prosecutors say Merz ran a red light at an Upper Arlington intersection and crashed into another car, killing 25-year-old Brandon Sega. Franklin County Sheriff's deputies at the time said alcohol was a factor, but prosecutors say Merz had no alcohol or drugs in his system.
