Ashland police have released the name of one of two women found dead inside of a home on Tuesday. Police chief David Marcelli says the body of 43-year-old Stacey Stanley was recovered from the home in the 300 block of Covert Court, but he is not releasing other details.
Stanley was kidnapped from a local gas station last week. Richland County Prosecutor Bambi Couch-Page says 40-year-old Shawn Grate has admitted killing Stanley and two other people, one of whom was found in a home that was intentionally set on fire in Richland County.
The other bodies have not been identified. Grate is being held on kidnapping and murder charges, with a decision on additional charges expected later today. Police say they found the bodies in the Ashland home when a third woman who was being held against her will by the suspect called for help.
