A Georgia author is this year's winner of the Thurber Prize for American Humor. The annual award presented by the Thurber House in Columbus includes a 5 thousand dollar cash prize. 41-year-old Harrison Scott Key penned the book entitled “The World’s Largest Man”, a story of a boy and his father that also satires the American south. He beat out two other finalists. Key will appear at a Thurber House event within the next year. Previous winners include Julie Schumacher, Calvin Trillin and David Sedaris.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
