Man Who Threatened Former OSU Running Back Sentenced To Federal Prison

Summit County Sheriff's Office

The Akron man who threatened former Ohio State running back Chris Wells has been sentenced to ten years in federal prison for extortion and other charges. Franklin Conley was convicted earlier this year of threatening Wells with death or permanent injury if he failed to hand over thousands of dollars in cash or connections to a drug dealer. Prosecutors say the threats stemmed from a bad drug deal made by Wells' brother.
