The 4th Ohio District Court of Appeals has rejected a request to overturn the corruption conviction of former Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly. Last week's ruling means Kelly will serve a seven year prison term for pocketing cash by selling county vehicles to a salvage yard and spending public money on clothing and meals. Kelly's attorney claimed there was insufficient evidence to convict him on charges including theft and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
