Marion House Fire Claims Life Of Prison Guard

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a deadly house fire in Marion.  Fire crews rushed to the house on Hartford Street at late Thursday night after a police officer saw smoke coming from the structure.  Firefighters pulled out a man who was trapped inside.  54-year-old Andre Goodwin was rushed to a hospital, but did not survive. Fire officials say Goodwin was a guard at the Marion Correctional Institution. State officials are helping Marion fire personnel investigate the cause of the blaze.
