The Athens County Emergency Management Agency says the search for a missing kayaker was suspended Saturday after six kayakers were swept over a water fall on the Hocking River.
The agency says the search will resume when the Hocking River water falls to a safe level. The river is swollen by recent rainfall. 12 kayakers were in the river just above the White’s Mill waterfall. Six of were able to get the riverbank before being swept over the falls. Five others were rescued.
