State Rejects Thousands Of Offensive Specialty License Plate Applications Annually

More than 500 thousand Ohio vehicles have customized license plates, but some drivers want plates that have racial slurs and other offensive language.  The Ohio Department of Public Safety says nearly 3 thousand applications for customized plates were rejected last year because of profane or disrespectful language. The list includes vulgarities related to bodily functions, race and the University of Michigan.
