Four More Guilty Pleas In Pilot Flying J Fuel Rebate Scam

knoxnews.com

A former executive of the truck stop chain owned by Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam has pleaded guilty to his alleged role in the company's scheme to defraud trucking companies of promised fuel rebates. Former Pilot Flying J Vice President of Sales John Freeman is one of four people to plead guilty this week. They are among nearly 20 employees who've admitted to their roles in the scheme.  The FBI raided the company's headquarters in Knoxville, Tennessee more than four years ago. Four people are set to go on trial next month. Haslam, the brother of Republican Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, has not been charged.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
