Local Couple Pleads Guilty In Cemetery Scam

Delaware County Sheriff's Office

Sentencing is scheduled December 8th for a couple who owned a Delaware County cemetery accused of cheating more than 70 people out of thousands of dollars. Theodore Martin, the former owner of Fairview Memorial Park, changed his not guilty plea to guilty on 14 felony counts of theft. His wife, Arminda, also changed her plea to guilty. Both reached plea deals with prosecutors, which call on the couple to pay restitution. Prosecutors say the couple failed to deliver pre-paid services to the victims.
