A study by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysisshows the majority of Ohioans last year saw an increase in personal income, as compared with 2015. Franklin County residents saw their incomes rise last year 1.7 percent to just over 48 thousand dollars annually. Bureau economist Jeff Newman says people living in most of Ohio's 88 counties saw an average personal income growth rate of 1.8 percent, which is two-tenths of a point above the national rate.
Newman says last year's growth rate was lower than in 2015 because of slower growth in earnings and property values. He says personal income for Ohio residents averaged more than 44 thousand dollars per year.
