Construction is scheduled to begin next year on an extra driving lane on the left shoulder of eastbound I-670 from 4th Street to I-270. Ohio Department of Transportation officials say crews will convert the shoulder into a so-called "smartlane" motorists may use during the weekday afternoon commute. Electronic signs will tell drivers when the lane is available.
