Three Sunday Shootings Raise Columbus' Homicide Rate To 129

Columbus' homicide total for the year is now 129 following three separate shooting deaths on Sunday. Three other people were wounded in the unconnected shootings. Police say one person was killed last night at a home in the 900 block of Rarig Avenue on the east side. Police say 26-year-old Kieara Hobbs was shot and killed at a hooka lounge on Lockbourne Road early Sunday. Police say late Sunday morning, 54-year-old Van Johnson was shot and killed at a home on Ottawa Drive by 18-year-old Jordyn Preston, the boyfriend of his daughter, following an argument. Preston is at-large. The record of 139 homicides in a year was set in 1991.
