A former Ohio Highway Patrol lieutenant has been convicted of stealing a gun stored as evidence in Delaware County. William Elschlager was indicted after two guns were found in his Marietta home during a search related to another investigation. One gun charge against Elschlager was dismissed. Sentencing is scheduled for January 19. He's also scheduled for trial on January 8 for allegedly cyberstalking a woman with whom he had an affair. Elschlager is the former commander of the patrol's Marietta post.
