Columbus police have filed charges in the city's first homicide of 2018.
32-year-old Sean Newman is charged with murder for allegedly shooting and killing his 30-year-old wife Ashley early Monday at a home on Yukon Avenue. No word on a motive, but a relative told police Sean Newman said the shooting was accidental. A record 143 homicides were reported in Columbus last year.
