Columbus Police Seized Record Amount Of Guns Last Year
The Columbus Division of Police says officers seized a record amount of guns last year. Officers seized more than 27 hundred guns, besting the record of more than 26 hundred set in 2012. 365 weapons seized last year were reported stolen. Police say one of the many factors in the increase is the ongoing opioid crisis. Unless the guns were used in a crime, they are returned to their rightful owner or destroyed.
