Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader says a deputy shot and killed a man Thursday during an altercation after an attempted traffic stop. 35-year-old James Burks was killed near a trailer on State Route 124 after a deputy attempted to stop his vehicle. Reader says Burks was one of three suspects who fled. The unnamed deputy was treated at a hospital and released.
