Attorneys for the Champaign County teen charged with last year’s shootings at West Liberty High School are trying to get their clients' confession tossed out. Attorneys for 18-year-old Ely Serna have told a judge the confession shouldn’t be allowed at trial because he didn’t understand his rights at the time. A ruling on the motion is pending. Serna's attorneys say he has been diagnosed with severe depression, anxiety, suicidal tendencies and an eating disorder. His trial is scheduled for April.
