State To Start Mailing Driver's Licenses This Summer

driving-tests.org

The Ohio Department of Public Safety says starting July 2, the state will end the same-day issuing of driver's licenses and will mail them instead. The goal of the change taking effect July 2 is to save money and increase security. Licenses will arrive 10 days after they're issued. Drivers will be given temporary licenses and ID cards in the meantime. People who want to travel may also request driver's licenses or ID cards at no extra cost. Restrictions taking effect in October 2020 will require federally compliant driver's licenses to pass through airport security.
