Remains Of Local Marine Slain In WW II To Be Laid To Rest Monday

The U.S. Marine Corps says a the remains of a private from Columbus killed during World War II will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday. 

Private First Class Harold Thomas died during fighting on the Gilbert Islands in 1943. His remains were laid to rest near the battlefield, but not identified until DNA testing was conducted last year.
