Former London city auditor Nicholas Szabo was sentenced last week to one month in jail and two years' probation following his conviction on theft in office charges.
Szabo pleaded guilty to charges of giving an unauthorized pay hike to a clerk and failed to pay more than 3 thousand dollars for his health benefits. The charges were filed following an investigation by the state auditor's office. Szabo, a Republican, resigned last year.
