Waverly police say the Pike County Government Center was evacuated Wednesday due to a chemical spill.
County Commisssioner Fred Foster says the evacuation and closure of the building were ordered as a precaution. Pike County EMA says the chemical, MECT5< was an inhalation hazard and the spill was in a storage room at the back of the building. No injuries or illnesses are reported.
