NOAA Predicts Mild Winter In Central Ohio

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says central Ohio should experience a milder than normal winter this season.

The agency's latest report shows a 75 percent chance of an El Nino developing, which would bring warmer, drier conditions to the region. NOAA's Climate Prediction Center says the El Nino will be weaker than in years past, but the mild conditions should still cause a dry winter without much snow in the northern United States. An El Nino is the name for a cycle of warm waters in the Pacific Ocean. La Nina is the term for colder ocean waters.
