The parents of an 11-year-old Triad Local Schools student who took her own life two years ago are suing the district and the school's prinicipal, saying bullying contributed to her death.
Bethany Thompson survived brain cancer and had surgery to remove a tumor that damaged nerves in her face. The suit says students verbally and physically bullied her. The suit says the child told a friend she was going to kill herself because of the bullying. Officials in the Champaign County district says they meet state requirements on bullying.
