Columbus Sets New Annual Rainfall Record

The National Weather Service says Columbus had its wettest year on record in 2018.

Columbus got 55.18 inches of rainfall last year, besting the record set in 2011 by two-tenths of an inch.  The average yearly total is 39.31 inches. Meterologists and climate scientists say it's another effect of global climate change.  Average precipitation has increased significantly in the Ohio Valley in the past half-century.
