A New Jersey-based trucking company has told state officials it laid-off 264 workers when it closed its four facilities in Ohio on Friday.
New England Motor Freight says the layoffs include 90 workers at its west Columbus facility. The other facilities are in Sharonville, Richfield and Toledo. The firm says the closures are the result of its recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing due to rising costs and a driver shortage.
