Indicted Columbus Vice Cop Pleads Not Guilty

U.S. Attorney's Office

A former Columbus vice unit officer Thursday pleaded not guilty to charges of forcing women to have sex with him under threat of an arrest.

Andrew Mitchell - who retiredafter being indicted last week - also pleaded not guilty to witness tampering and lying to federal agents when he said he'd never had sex with prostitutes.  He remains held without bond.  Prosecutors say Mitchell is a flight risk and poses a danger to the community.
