The Ohio Highway Patrol says a prisoner who escaped at an interstate rest stop Friday while being moved by a private inmate transport company was recaptured Sunday.
Troopers say Said Ali El-Khatib was arrested without incident near a motel in Ashland. He is wanted in Indiana on a receiving stolen vehicle warrant. OHPsays Affordable Extradition Service was transporting El-Khatib from the New York Police Department to the Allen County Sheriff in Indiana when the the prisoner escaped after asking to use the restroom at the stop along southbound I-71 in northeast Ohio.
