hillfuneral.com

The family of a Westerville woman who died after contracting a rare brain disease while whitewater rafting in North Carolina has settled their lawsuit against the water park operator.

The family of 18-year-old Lauren Seitz sued the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte for not properly maintaining their filtration system or warning visitors of the dangers of the disease.   Terms of the settlement were not released, but Seitz's family had been asking for more than one million dollars in damages.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
