Overnight Storms Spawn Tornados, Cause Power Outages For Thousands

Jordan Lynn Freshauer via Facebook

The National Weather Service says in a tweet early this morning there are more 70 thousand power outages across the state, affecting over 5 million people.

The service is asking residents to send reports of outages via social media or email if possible. It also says the tornado threat has ended.  Two tornadoes  touched down last night in Dayton and nearby Trotwood. No injuries are reported. In Pickaway County, authorities closed U.S. Route 23 in Laurelville due to storm damage. And high winds caused two semis to overturn at a truck stop on 23 near Pittsburg Road, injuring at least one person.
