Two Researchers At Local Hospital Allegedly Gave Secrets To China

U.S. Attorney's Office

Federal prosecutors have announced an indictment on trade secret theft charges against husband-and-wife researchers at Children's Hospital in Columbus for 10 years.

46-year-old Li Chen and her husband, 49-year-old Yu Zhou, are accused of stealing cellular research they conducted and illegally transferring the information to China.  The indictment also says the couple set up businesses in China, applied for patents there and traveled to China, all without hospital authorization. An attorney representing Chen declined comment, calling it a "complicated and sensitive case."  Zhou's attorney has yet to comment.
