A death row inmate has been handed a life sentence after pleading guilty to the fatal 2017 prison beating of a serial killer dubbed the "Angel of Death."
James Elliott pleaded guilty to beating and killing Donald Harvey at the state prison in Toledo. Harvey killed three dozen hospital patients in Ohio and Kentucky in the 1970s and '80s. Elliott grew up near relatives of Harvey's victims. The union representing prison guards has said the suspect and Harvey were in a protective custody unit together.
