The parents of the college student from Ohio who died after being released from detention in North Korea are asking South Korea to pressure the North Korean government on human rights issues.

Otto Warmbier died shortly after arriving in Cincinnati following 17 months in captivity. The North has denied it tortured or cruelly treated the University of Virginia student. Otto's father is Fred Warmbier:

Fred's wife Cindy Warmbier says the couple continues to seek justice:

The couple also say they are committed to finding and shutting down illicit North Korean business assets around the world in efforts to hold its government accountable for widespread human rights abuses. They also called on the Trump administration to raise North Korea's human rights problems during negotiations to defuse the country's nuclear threat. The couple spoke earlier today at a press conference in Seoul arranged by a group that looks for international support for the plight of people abuducted and imprisoned by the North Korean government.
