Retired Local Priest Accused Of Sexual Abuse

Columbus Catholic Diocese

A retired Columbus priest has been accused of sexual abuse.

The Columbus Catholic Diocese has placed 77-year old David Schilder on its list of priests considered "credibly accused" of sexual abuse after an allegation that surfaced in September. The accuser claimed they had been abused by Schilder between 1981 and 1983.  An earlier allegation from 2004 that described abuse from the late 1960's was ruled "partial and incomplete" but the diocese says it forwarded the information to Franklin County Children Services.  Schilder retired in 2004 and was barred from public ministry by the diocese.

Mike Foley joined WCBE in February 2000, coming from WUFT in Gainesville, Florida. A series of music features Foley started in 2018 called Music Journeys has grown into a podcast and radio show. He also assists in developing other programs in WCBE's Podcast Experience. Foley hosts The Morning Mix, a weekday music show featuring emerging and established musicians, our Columbus-area and Ohio-based talent, and additional artists that inspire him.
