Columbus city officials say they are planning changes to downtown area parking meters begining next year.
The Columbus Department of Public Service says the city will use no time limit meters with rates of 50-cents an hour on the edges of downtown, with closer meters having a one-dollar rate for three-hours, and a one-dollar-50-cent rate for 30-minute meters. The changes are expected to go into effect in February. The city is gathering public input about the downtown parking situation through an online survey.
