Columbus Police Chief Thomas Quinlan says he will use data collected over the New Year's holiday to ask officials to fund expansion of the Shot Spotter technology into east side neighborhoods.
The devices are currently in the Hilltop, South Side, and Linden. Quinlan says between December 31st and January 1st, the devices detected more than 300 celebratory gunshots.
