An injured bald eagle that was rescued in Licking County in June has been released back into the wild.
An Ohio Wildlife Rescue team took the eagle to the Ohio Bird Sanctuary in Mansfield for treatment of a broken wing. The eagle was found near a backyard woodpile and may have been accidentally hit by a car. Rescuers have successfully treated two bald eagles so far this year. Bald Eagles were removed from Ohio's endangered species list in 2012. Experts say there are now over 700 confirmed nests statewide.
