Columbus Fire Officials Resigns Amid Misconduct Probe

firehouse.com

A Columbus fire official under investigation for theft and mismanagement says he will retire on Monday.

City officials say Deputy Chief Jack Reall's actions involving work hours cost taxpayers more than 400 thousand dollars. No criminal charges have been filed and the city has not updated the status of its investigation of Reall, Assistant Chief James Cannell and Chief Kevin O'Connor.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
