Group Names Cuyahoga River Of The Year

Efforts to clean the Cuyahoga River are being recognized, 50 years after fire on the river changed environmental laws.  

American Rivers has named the Cuyahoga its River of the Year for 2019 , calling it a national success story. Congress created the Environmental Protection Agency and the Clean Water Act after the fire.  Dozens of fish species now call the river home after two-and-a-half-billion-dollars in cleanup work.
