Local Cops Will No Longer Publicly Identifty Juvenile Crime Victims

Columbus police officials have changed their policy on identifying juvenile crime victims.

Minors who are victims of robbery, assault or gun crimes will not be named in news releases or in the division's social media unless there are special circumstances. Since the start of police brutality protests, Mayor Andy Ginther has required police to get social media posts approved by his office.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
